A Wedding is full of colours and fun rituals that are sure to spice the whole event. The big event is called as Gruh Pravesh- - Bride's entry into the new house is most the prominent post-wedding ritual after bidaai. Here in this tradition, the bride is welcomed first time with her husband in the house. This ceremony takes place at the groom’s home where the bride’s mother-in-law gives a warm welcome to the new couple. Usually, in this event, the presence of the entire groom family and extended family members are present.
Bride’s Entry into The New House
As the first ritual conducted after the wedding, the groom's mother hugs and washes the newly wedded couple feet with milk and water. After this, the traditional aarti is performed and the bride is then asked to enter the house by knocking down a glass of rice, kept at the entrance in the door. The couple enters the house with their right foot.
